River Region Bicycle Classic October 16, 2010

Experience the rugged beauty of the Texas Hill Country River Region by joining us each October for Bicycle Classic. This event is for the cyclist looking for a serious challenge as well as families wanting an enjoyable ride for everyone.
Headquartered at Parkview Riverside on CR 350, Bicycle Classic kicks off on Friday, with packet pickup, late registration, and a skills clinic focusing on climbing and descending skills needed for hill country rides. Maps of the area will be available for unsupported rides. An evening social with snacks, entertainment, and vendor booths is also part of the fun.

It’s your choice of supported routes: 32-mile Scenic Cruise (out and back), 52-mile Challenge, and the 102-mile Dragon's Back Century. The 52-mile Challenge and the Dragon's Back include the most spectacular hill climb and descent in Texas. All routes include beautiful views, river crossings, friendly, well-prepared rest stops at least every 10 miles, and expert SAG wagons and mechanics.

Enjoy beer, BBQ, music & fun on Saturday night on the banks of the Frio! Bicycle Classic proceeds are donated to local scout troops, EMS, and fire departments that volunteer their time to help ensure your ride is a safe one.

Hill Country Rivers Classic Stockshow December 3-4th

Trout Days January 2011

Enjoy winter trout fishing in the crystal-clear Hill Country Nueces River.  Rainbow trout and largemouth bass will be stocked in January.  This event is hosted by Hill Country Rivers and will include a fishing contest for both youth and adults with prizes and an evening dinner w/fireside entertainment.  More information will be posted on the website prior to the event.

September 24 & 25, 2010  Utopiafest II

The 1st Annual Utopia Music Festival (Utopiafest) was a historic happening in Utopia, Texas.
It brought together 9 bands from across Texas, one from California, and over 200 people of all ages.
There was even a couple there from France.
Everyone from young children to the early-80s thoroughly enjoyed the perfect weather, fine music and food all day Saturday.
Many camped on the ranch Friday and Saturday nights.
Utopiafest was mentioned on several area radio stations, featured in multiple publications, and www.utopiafestival.com had over 2000 visitors.     
Utopiafest II promises to be Bigger and a lot Better, during the last weekend of September 2010.

2nd Annual Utopiafest Music Festival - Utopia, Texas September 24 & 25, 2010     Friday, September 24-Gates Open @ 5 PM     Saturday September 25-Gates Open @ 10AM     Sunday - September 26 - Free Gospel Jam @ noon
Several bands will perform Friday. 15 Bands in all span a wide variety of genres, from Folk to Rock, Blues, Gypsy, Western Swing and Celtic.
